Baby Blanket

I finally finished crocheting a baby blanket for my friend who is moving across the country to the West Coast. Her baby girl is due in December. The pattern is a big granny square with 3 rows of double crochet as a border.

Anything New?

My friend just had a baby boy, Benjamin. I knitted a hat and scarf set for him. Just in time for Fall and Winter. I made the hat a lot bigger than the pink one I made before from Stitch and Bitch because I wanted him to be able to use it for a while.

I need to get my winter projects going if I am going get them finished for Christmas!

Birthday Hat

I crocheted a hat for my friend, Jess's birthday. I used Lion Brand Wool Ease "Thick & Quick" in Wheat. It matches the scarf I gave her.

Well, I have to admit I haven't been doing much knitting and crocheting. I have been busy working on getting my business ready to launch. I am still working on more products. It's a lot of work. And I am doing this by myself. I am grateful to my husband for all his unconditional support.

I am still trying to finish my 2nd Knitter's Critters blanket and Haiku. I need to finish Haiku by July for a little girl's birthday.

First Knit Hat!

This is the first hat that I have knit. And a first for using circulars and dpn's. Plus, the first time for I-Cord.

And my model:

I got the pattern from the Stitch and Bitch book. It is called the Umbilical Cord Hat. I used one skein of Debbie Bliss "Merino Aran". It didn't even use up the whole skein. I love it. It is such a cute hat. I am so proud of it. What do you think?

Crochet Scarf

I finished crocheting this scarf a few weeks ago, but now SPRING is here in NYC! I guess that I won't be able to wear it until next winter. The pattern is the same as the knitathon blanket, except that you change the width and length to a scarf size of your choice. I used 2 skeins of Karabella "Aurora Melange" and 1 skein of Karabella "Soft Tweed". I love this yarn. The 100% extra fine merino wool is so soft and it keeps my neck warm.

Okay, so I got 3 hours of sleep last night and I still made it to work. I felt like a zombie today. I just couldn't sleep last night. I get insomnia often. What did I do? I was knitting a baby hat until 4am this morning. I am making the Umbilical Cord baby hat from the Stitch and Bitch book. This is the first time I have knit using circulars and dpn's! Circular knitting is so fun! I am obsessed! Before I made myself try to sleep, I knit onto the dpn's and did a few rows. I feel a bit clumsy doing it but it is coming along nicely.

Modeling

Here is my friend, Jess, modeling the hat and scarf I crocheted a few months ago.
.
I ended up giving her the scarf because she loved it so much. I made a matching hat for her birthday at the end of the month. Shhh! It's a surprise. Pix coming soon.
