Early Christmas Gift

I am so thrilled to finally have a place to sew. DH spotted this Sauder Sewing/Craft Table in the Walmart circulars while we were in Massachusetts for Thanksgiving. So, on the drive home to NYC, we stopped off at one of the many Walmarts along Rt 95 in Connecticut to pick this up.

I have been using the kitchen table to sew, but that means I had to push aside everything when we have dinner. It wasn't very efficient at all. I love the fact that I now can store my sewing machine inside when I am not using it. And there is a cabinet on the side with 3 shelves. The storage bins on the left hand side is useful for storing small items that I need to use frequently. The drop leaf is a nice feature so I can have more room to sew.

This table is heavy. The whole box weighs 85 lbs and there was no way I could help lift it into the car. DH put the whole thing together for me while I watched. It took a while, but the instructions are very clear so that made it easy. None of that Ikea hieroglyphics, it actually has written instructions.

I read that Walmart does not stock this regularly, only around the Holidays. It still on sale for $75 at Walmart (my handles slightly differs from the picture they show online). Target is selling it for $169.99 and $179.99 for the American Cherry finish, but it's only available online at Target.

Congrats on the sewing table, I've always made sure I have a sewing table, I would hate to have to stop mid-project to eat dinner.

What a wonderful early Christmas gift! That's a really great sewing table, mine just fit my sewing machine only--no storage at all! This one beats it hands down, you've got a great DH for sure :)

heheeh, so cute to see the hello kitty machine "hiding" in there. Love this cabinet, if only I have room for this. I've been sewing on my dining room table.

And hey, thank you so much for getting a set of my holiday cards! They are sent out today so hopefully you will get them very soon :-)
