Last day of August?

I am dreaming of cool Fall weather so that I can wear some of the scarves I have woven. This is a Sampler Sock Kit in the colorway, Autumn Leaves, that has been sitting in my stash for a while. I bought it from Knitabulous Yarn. It came packaged in cupcake liners. Oh so cute!
There are a total of 5 colors. I used each color once for the warp stripes. Then I used each color for the weft in sections. I started with orange and then green, red, yellow and ended with blue. (10 dent heddle, 70 ends, 2.5 yard warp)I wove it looser than my previous scarves to achieve more drape and to see how much the yarn will bloom after washing. The results after washing? A light and airy scarf.

We ended August with a birthday celebration. Melody's pal, Veronica, turned 4 years old! I brought my camera and even remembered to charge up the battery. But I forgot my memory card! Sigh! Here are the pics taken with my Blackberry Phone. The birthday girl, Veronica! The birthday party was held at The Messy Artist in New Jersey. It was a great party. All the kids had so much fun and the staff was very nice. One of the best parts was that the kids can get as messy as they want, but leave the party all cleaned up and the mess behind.Melody painted a Teddy Bear that she got to bring home. There was a painting table set up with lots of paint. Melody made a beeline for that table right away.See the stuff that they are scooping? It's Oatmeal! What a great idea.Pizza was served for the kids and adults. The kiddies got juice boxes and the adults had wine. And for dessert, pink sparkly cupcakes! Thank you for inviting us to a awesome party, Jen & Jason.

Your scarf is just beautiful and looks fabulous in Ailsa's yarns too. The party seems like a big hit, lots of fun when you dont have to clean up the big mess afterwards!

Your scarf is so pretty and special because it's the only one of it's kind.
Love this kind of party. My daughter had one at a craft shop when she was small.

Your scarf is gorgeous!! I love rainbow-colored items so that makes me love it more!! Sigh, I will not get a loom, I will not get a loom...

It looks like everyone had a ball at Veronica's party. I had to chuckle when you said Melody went straight for the paint table; I would have too! :)

Your scarf is beautiful. I know you'll enjoy wearing it. (Can't even bear to think about such a thing right now, though, it's too hot here!)

What a wonderfully creative party place! It looks like all the kids had a blast.

The scarf is lovely. I like the colors for fall. When I first saw them in cupcake liners, I thought they were cupcakes and was wondering how you got the icing to look like yarn. Ha!

That party sounds fun and fancy with the wine ;).

And I didn't leave the house with Clark much either, it was January and like you said, my first so I was nervous.

Truly adorable packaging for the yarn, but I like the finished project you wove it into even better. :)

Wonderful scarf, and how great to have so many cupcakes - the yarn kind, the sparkly kind and the super cute kid kind!
