Christmas Elf

I had to start this baby cap 3 times because the numbers didn't work for me. I was knitting the 6 months size which called for casting on 121 stitches. When I got to the increasing and decreasing, it wasn't coming out even. After frogging it 2 times, I did a little math and I casted on 127 stitches and it worked. Not sure why the original pattern numbers didn't work for me, but I will just blame it on being pregnant.

For the increasing and decreasing, I followed Hello Yarn's instructions: To decrease, Slip 1 purlwise, K2TOG, PSSO. To increase, knit into the front and back of the stitch.

Pattern: Norwegian Sweet Baby Cap (Free Pattern)
Yarn: 1/3 of a skein of Sundara Sock Yarn in Fern
Needles: US 1.5 / 2.5 mm

Adorable! Those teeth, those eyes, I can barely contain myself! I hope you plan to use this for your Christmas card!

Awww such adorable photos!

I find that most folks only test knit one size and the rest is just number crunching so it's easy to run into errors for sizes that were not test knit. Looks like you worked it out beautifully though!

How cute is the model? Part Pekinese? The underbite kills me.

Fab hat, just came across it and am making one now! If it's not too late, the reason 121 st didn't work for you might be because you used the kfb increase, which 'eats up' a stitch, rather than the running-thread one, which doesn't. The type of increase is specified in the Norwegian version of the pattern but kind of vague in the translation.
Mind you, I have pregnancy brain too and am only up to the garter stitch part, so wait and see while this bites me in the behind ;)
