Believe it or not, I was able to put down the knitting needles long enough to sew a few things. Though it really is more like a baby knitting factory at my house these days. Hey, when you get the knitting mojo, don't fight it, just go with it. Last month, I bought some purple "mock mink" and a cotton calico print. I paired the calico print with some solid purple cotton to make thick and thin stripes. The back of the quilt is the mock mink and I sandwiched it with a layer of lavender flannel in between.
I tied the quilt using a machine technique I learned from Last-Minute Patchwork & Quilted Gifts. It's from the project called Super Quick & Easy Baby Quilt. Basically, lightly pencil-mark where you want your "ties" to be, then you set your sewing machine to a zigzag stitch. Sew over the pencil mark for about 1/2 inch, back stitch for the same distance and then move on to the next pencil mark. Here is a up close picture of my zigzag "ties" circled in red.If you look closely or click on the photo, you can see a row of the "ties" below Caesar's feet going across horizontally. I stitched them on the calico print so they are not as noticeable. The binding is a satin blanket binding that was a absolute nightmare to use, but it has really pretty results. The quilt measures 32" X 41".I really like how the bunny pillow turned out. I had a small piece of the satin blanket binding left over, so I added it to the stripes. The mock mink is very soft, so I used it for the other side of the pillow. My first bib didn't turn out half bad. Sewing the binding to a curved piece was a first for me, but it wasn't hard as long as you do it slowly. The longest part of all these projects was the piecing of the stripes. For each project, I sewed separate striped panels of fabric. If I had used one piece of solid or printed fabric, it would have been a lot faster. But I really like the random sized striping effect. Not sure if you can call this patchwork?
*For some reason, photographing purple colored things is difficult. The color shows up more on the blue side. The first 2 photos is probably the closest to what it looks like in real life, though the mock mink keeps showing up blue when it is really purple.

What a lovely set - the rabbit toy is my favourite! I hope that you're feeling better now. The weather has changed here too quite quickly and we're all walking around with hankies :P
Very nice! The pillow is especially sweet.
Oh so cute! I love that method of "ties". I'll have to remember that for future reference.
It's such a sweet set. The mock mink looks very soft, it will be nice and soft, next to baby's skin. The bunny has a cute shape too.
your blanket set is adorable! The lavender color will be perfect for your daughter. I've always wanted to try using that minky stuff. Was it hard to sew with (harder than the satin)?
very cute. love the bib!
A very cute and very girlie set! I just got a copy of Last Minute Patchwork and haven't had a chance to spend much time with it. Thanks for mentioning the zig zag ties. That's a really cool idea!
Rebekah- The mock mink didn't give me any difficulty in sewing. I think it might be different than that minky stuff. I have been wanting to try minky, but I haven't seen it anywhere.
Everything is *gorgeous*!!!
Those are gorgeous! And you're so nice, I would have tried the bib on Caesar!
oh my goodness. Those are great! I can't believe how productive you are. Is this you're 'nesting' phase? =)
Love the purple & the bunny
What a beautiful set !
I loved the striped bunny rabbit!
Aww! That is so cute -- I love the bunny!
Whoa...beautiful. That shade of light purple especially reminds me of lavender (the plant).
you've been very busy! lovely work.
What a lovely set for your baby. I made a similar toy for little girl before she is born and it is a favourite. Have you tried making tag blankets and balls?? They are also popular with busy little hands and feet. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I found the last 81 days the longest and hardest!
Ahhh, love the bunny, I could just die from the cuteness. What a beautiful set, you should be very proud.
Ooh forgot to say... My memory is tres crap at the moment, but did you recently change your header? I love it so much - the boys look like such handsome doggies. Have you got a strategy for any jealously with baby? Apparently our cat HATED me when I as born and slept on the neighbour's doorstep for the rest of his life (8 years!).
OMG!! that set is absolutely adorable, what a nice addition to all the handknits :)
Fliss- Yes, I learned to change the banner from a thread on the Ravelry forum and decided to play around. I changed it on Friday night.
gosh, all your projects have been amazing! I love how this whole thing is a set. The bib looks too pretty to get dirtied up!!
