Yes folks, I went to Rhinebeck, NY for the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival. I have been debating about going for the last 2 weeks. I was worried about being on my feet all day and having to use the bathroom all the time. I have never been to Rhinebeck, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Plus it was raining all day and night on Friday. If it was still like that on Saturday, I was going to skip it. Luckily, it was a sunny and beautiful day on Saturday so we packed up the car with the boys and off we went.
My friend lives in upstate NY and we were heading to her house first. It took about 2 hours to get there. And then her boyfriend drove me and her to Rhinebeck which took another hour. The boys stayed behind with DH and they had their own activities for the day. It was a shame that the festival didn't allow pets. The boys would have loved it.Am I glad that I went? Yes, I had a good time, but I am still recovering from it. The amount of vendors and yarn there was overwhelming. We got there around 12:30pm and stayed until it ended at 6pm. We barely made it through all the vendors. Another friend that joined us was there since 9am so she was helpful in telling us where the good stuff was. These last 4 pictures below are of Brooks Farm Yarn. All their yarns were gorgeous. There is no way of leaving their booth without buying something. I still have to take pictures of my yarn haul, so stayed tuned for part 2.

So lucky...I'm glad you got to go! (And they should totally have let you take your boys :o)
I've been wanting to go to Rhinebeck since I first heard about it last year. My dad grew up in Rhinebeck and my uncle and grandmother still live there. I might have to make a family visit next fall.
Looks like there were some beautiful things to choose from!
Wow, it looks wonderful.
Looking forward to seeing your haul!
looks like a lot of fun!
Ooh those yarns look beautiful! Can't wait to see what you got!
Ooh, how fun! I love Brooks Farm -- you're right, it's impossible to not buy from them!
Oh, how fun! You're making me wish I trekked up for Rhinebeck. Can't wait to see the yarn you purchased.
Have always wanted to go check out Rhinebeck although I'm on the wrong coast for that now! *Love* all the red yarns in the bottom two pictures.
Like the new look of the blog too. The banner up top is really cute!
What a wonderful day out! I have never, ever seen so much yarn in my life. BTW - you've been tagged! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you must visit my site to find out your fate :)
