My First Bag

I love my new Pleated Tote! I used the same bird fabric that I used on my Cushion Cover. The inside is also lined with the same fabric.

It's a large bag, very roomy and it goes right over your shoulder. I can see myself making more of these for Christmas presents this year. DH was very impressed when I showed him the bag. If I knew what I could do with a sewing machine earlier, I would have bought one a long time ago. I guess I got scared off from my 8th grade Home Ec Class.
Pattern: Free pattern from Artsy-Crafty Babe, here is the PDF Link.
There is also a Flickr Group where you can see other people's Pleated Totes.

I can't believe it's your first sewn bag. It's gorgeous, really.

The bag looks fantastic! Worry not...Hello Kitty sewing machines can accomplish quite a bit. I've lost track of how many projects I've put through my little machine.

It's a very nice bag. I still have sewing phobia courtesy of my domestic science lessons from way back :) so I have to really psyche myself up everytime I sew!

love the bag and I hear you on the sewing front! I did sewing in year 7 and was absolutely hopeless! never finished the pillow or skirt we were supposed to make...now you can't get me out of my sewing room ...I like that you can find a quick project and do it in an afternoon! a bit harder to do with my knitting

I m a bag girl. Love your bag, very nice and handy.

I have probia in doing the linning. It takes longer than sewing/knitting the bag.
