A Quick Gift!

Baby hats are so much fun to knit because it takes so little time to finish one. I needed some instant gratification after finishing the Pinwheel Baby Blanket, so I whipped up this hat for a special little baby. This is NYC Restaurant Week and I was invited to ladies night at Lure last night. One of the ladies was bringing her baby, Samantha. I last saw her 6 months ago and thought she could use a hat in this freezing NYC weather. It fit perfectly.

I made one of these before with Mission Falls 1824 Cotton (which is what they used in the book), but I wasn't crazy about the feel of the cotton or the look. I used Mission Falls 1824 Wool instead for this one. Much better! This yarn is very nice to knit with. I just think that I don't like the feel of knitting with cotton yarn.

Pattern: Children's Cotton Hat from Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Mission Falls 1824 Wool , Color: Mallow 025
Needles: US 7 circulars (16") and US 7 DPN's

Very cute hat! I like knitting with wool much more than cotton too.
