Changes: City Life to Suburbia.

Moving!
3 weeks ago, we moved to the suburbs of New Jersey. After 13 yrs of living in NYC, it was a huge change. Although I miss my neighborhood and friends dearly, it was a great decision for the whole family. The peace and quiet I now have in a house has done wonders for my sleep. Melody and our 2 dogs have a fenced in back yard for them to run around in and they are so delighted. We love our new town and every time we walk into downtown it reminds us of why we fell in love with this town 2 years ago. I did have some fears the week of our move that I was making a huge mistake, but I think those were last minute jitters. My fears were gone the second we walked into our house for our final walk through. It felt so right.

House warming bouquet.
My friend, Caiming, was our first house guest and she came to visit last weekend. She brought me this beautiful bouquet of flowers. It was perfect for the bay window in my living room. I can't wait to get the rest of the house set up so I can start having more guests over. Right now, I am still digging around in boxes for the things I need.

Karate!
To keep Melody busy before school starts in September, I signed her up for Karate lessons. She has been asking for Karate lessons for a long time. It was more like begging, so I was quite surprised at her reaction when we went to class. The first 3 sessions she attended were full of tears and resistance from her. She was shy and scared. But we had a breakthrough this week and she actually participated in the whole class. After class, she ran over to me and said, "Momma, I didn't cry! I did the whole class and I had soooo much fun." Lol!

Angela...I was always so envious of you living in the city. I live in Florida...I was born and raised in NJ loved it...always missed it...I moved here to Florida as a young married woman...but NJ rocks! I grew up in the suburbs...I was from Wayne, Pequannock..Hubs was from Rutherford and Livingston.

Congratulations on your new house!!!
Melody looks soooo cute in her Karate outfit! I'm glad she got over her shyness and is joining in with the rest. I don't know who it's rougher on, the kids or the mama's :)

Angela, I am so happy for you! A home of your own is such a blessing. I well remember when we moved into ours (and we're still here!).

And Melody, what a beauty she is! I'm glad she got over her shyness and had fun.

Congrats on your new house.

Living in NJ is nice IMHO - I love that you can have the best of both worlds... more quiet than the city but usually fairly easy access.

Try to remember your dream of your first night - it shall come true :-)
