LaReine is now available!

The pattern is now available for sale! You can click on the BUY NOW button and buy it through Ravelry without having to be a Ravelry member. It's an instant download for the pattern.

You may prefer to buy it on Ravelry if you are a Ravelry member. Or you can get the pattern through my Etsy Shop. The pattern will be emailed to you if you buy it from my Etsy Shop.

LaReine was inspired by my summer vacations at the Jersey Shore. Every year, we stay at my friend’s beach house on LaReine Ave in Bradley Beach. Every time I look at the shawl, it reminds me of the ocean and the countless hours my family and friends have spent frolicking in the waves.

This pattern has both written directions and charts. Although, it was designed to use up one skein of sock yarn, it can be easily customized to a larger size. There are instructions on how to make the shawl larger.

My friend, Tomo, helped me test knit the pattern using Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in the colorway Lettuce Leaf. It has a silky feel to it with a wonderful drape. It blocked out beautifully.A huge thank you goes out to my test knitters: Rebecca, Penelope, Tomo, Lisa, Susan and Emily. Take a look at Rebecca's stunning orange version of my shawl.

Okay, drum roll please! The 3 winners of the shawl pattern, sock yarn, and tape measures are: Celtic Cast On, Lori of Time Thrums, and misplacedpom! Congratulations, please email me at oiyi.yau(at) gmail (dot) com to give me your mailing info and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of yarn color. Remember, first come first serve.

Thank you to everyone who entered my giveaway. I promise that there will be more in the future.

This Saturday, I will be in Rhinebeck , NY for the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival. Please feel free to say hi if you see me walking around with my shawl. I will also have printed copies of my pattern for sale if you would like to buy it from me in person.

So pretty! It's on my list, bought the pattern, but it may have to wait until after Christmas to get knit up. Or I may just cast on and see what happens. I am so easily distracted by pretty things. :-)

Wow. I'll say it again but such a gorgeous pattern. I will definitely be getting a copy soon so I can start knitting one of these.

Congrats on your first published pattern!

And, I'm too late on the 1000 Hats book, but congrats to you for all of the projects and pictures of yours that were included. Melody looks so young (and adorable) in those pictures :)
