What he did on Father's Day.

I let DH sleep in since it was his day after all. Then I made us Grilled Flank Steak and Eggs Over Easy for brunch. After that, it was a fun filled day with Melody. We wandered around the local street fair in the neighborhood, but it got too hot and she started to look miserable. We took her to Ft Greene Park and she played with dirt and sand. Give the girl a plastic cup and she happily filled and dumped the dirt over and over again.Since it was a hot and humid day, we decided to stop off at a playground for some sprinkler time. The water was a refreshing relief. She had so much fun running in and out of the sprinklers with her father. It took some coaxing to get her to leave. They both got completely drenched and had to walk home looking like that.
Saturday was my last class at The Yarn Tree. My 10 weeks of Weaving 1 is done. I'm a weaver! I also signed up for Weaving 2, which I am super excited about.

To celebrate our last class, I baked some Apricot Bars to share with my class. They were well received. And to make it a little over the top, I used my own Apricot Jam that I canned a while ago. I saved a few of these for DH's dessert tonight. Try the recipe. You won't regret it. I had these bars at a party a while ago and they were made with raspberry jam. Just as delicious!

Awww, what a nice way to spend Father's Day! I'm going to sign up for the Thursday class. You've convinced me (rather, that lovely purple/green scarf you made for Melody convinced me). YUM those bars, gotta try...

Sigh, sounds like the perfect Father's Day to me! I'm actually quite jealous of Melody right now- My dad is in Germany so the best we could do to celebrate the holiday was chatting via Skype.

Happy Father's day to your husband! The park photos are so cute.

I make a very similar strawberry bar (with my own jam, too) that is our quick go to treat when we don't have anything sweet in our house. It's so yummy!

I can't wait to see more of your weaving photos.

She's so cute, even in her fit-pitching glory. At least the water must've been a nice cool down. The bars look delicious.
