Sorry for the absence. I haven't had internet connection for the last 2 weeks. After 2 weeks of dealing with bad customer service and missed appointments (they missed 3 appointments), I was surprised they showed up at all today. Our appointment today was from 8am-11am and of course they showed up after 11am. Enough of my ranting. I have a lot of catching up to do.
I got this yarn after the Artfibers Yarn Tasting. It's a tape yarn that normally I wouldn't be attracted to. But I was able to swatch with it at the Yarn Tasting and really liked the yarn when it was knit up.
I ordered enough for a pattern that I wanted to make, but it didn't work out at all. The yarn is considered a Bulky weight, but in my opinion, it's more like a heavy worsted weight. So refusing to give up, I came across Kirsten's free pattern and it worked out perfectly. It's been in the UFO pile for a while now, but now it's done! The only thing that I did differently was to knit the sleeves last. I also knit them at the same time with the magic loop method. I wanted to use up every last inch of this yarn because I don't like having small amount of
leftovers.
This little cardigan is quite warm. It will be a perfect cover up for when I am dining in restaurants with heavy air conditioning this Summer.
Pattern: Sunkist by Kirsten Kapur, free pattern on Ravelry or from her website.
Needles: US 8 - 5.0 mm and US 10 - 6.0 mm
Yarn: 400 yards of Artfibers Zoftig in color: 10 Gray

Beeee-autiful!
This is FABULOUS! And such unusual yarn! Nice job.
It is gorgeous! Perfect color too.
So pretty, the pattern, the colour, the fit! I wouldn't have known it was tape yarn ... I have the same feeling about tape yarn.
I hate not having internet, I feel like something is missing =)
Love the cardigan, so cute & grey goes with everything.
Beautiful!
i love it. wonderful work, as always.
A good lesson in the benefits reaching for the unexpected. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
A very pretty, simple cardi. I bet it will be one of the most used ones that you have. I like the name of the yarn, so close to zaftig.
Ooh cute! Turned out great! Looks real nice with that dress (?)
Amazing! This truly looks better than store-bought.

How frustrating - no internet for 2 weeks!! That is very lovely - how neat that you could swatch and ended up with yarn you might not have bought otherwise.
ooooo! I love it! I want to see it in person now. I"m glad both of our Zoftig adventures ended well.
lindo!!!Parabéns, já estive passeando algumas vezes pelo seu blog e sempre gosto muito de que vejo.Lu
