Do you feel lucky?

I sure felt lucky to be able to test knit one of Mochimochi Land's new patterns. The pattern is called Lucky and this little tree is not so lucky because it got crapped on by birds. See the top of the tree, underneath the birds?

Anna is a very creative toy designer. I have test knitted other toys for her, but they have always required felting. This pattern requires no felting and minimal sewing. The whole toy is knit with double pointed needles. The first bird was a little bit fiddly because it's so small, but the second bird was no problem at all. You just have to remember that you knit the birds as if knitting I-Cord, don't turn your work after each row.My faithful companion, Caesar, always obliges to model my creations. The baby model was napping at the time. Gee, if I didn't have dogs and a baby, I wonder how I would show scale? Also, Anna does note that the toy is not recommended for small children because of the small parts. I never realized how strong babies were until I had my own. Melody is 6 months old now and her strength surprises me, especially at the grocery store! She will grab or pick up anything that catches her eye. I can easily imagine her ripping the birds off the top of the tree. This toy is going in the display cabinet for looking only.

We are back from our vacation. I will post some vacation photos when I get my act together. I still haven't finished unpacking my own stuff. But the rest of the family is all unpacked and settled in. As soon as we got home, we have been swamped with obligations and appointments, so we haven't had a moment to take a breath.

Adorable! I hope you had a relaxing vacation. The worst part of vacation is coming home and unpacking. If it makes you feel better I'm still not completely unpacked from my Fourth of July vacation. =)

Love that!!! It's almost like a rattle. Maybe you could put jungle bells in the top of the tree and the ground? Fun stuff!

Such a cute toy, and your knitting is beautiful as usual :)

I checked out her other patterns, and she does have some very cute toys. I especially liked the stacking cats.

Look forward to seeing the vacation pics :)

Very cute, I could see making it without the birdies on top just so a little one COULD play with it.

Packing and unpacking suck, especially for moms! Only 2 weeks ago I found a half packed suitcase from April! Oops! Tons of my clothes and kids clothes were in there. Guess that's why the girls were complaining about never having clean pajamas- haha!

Thank you for the nice comments on my blog :)
Very cute tree :) Babies are very strong! My son is 9 months old and he loves to pinch me and it really hurts! Strong fingers on the little guy! And when I try to be strict and try to teach him not to pinch me he thinks I am so funny and only laughs at me :) haha

What an adorable toy. I always love seeing what's going on at Mochimochi Land. She comes up with the cutest ideas.

P.S. My children said you have a cute dog. Now my oldest is asking if we can get one.

That is so gorgeous! You just amaze me with your talent. I love the little birds on top. Can't even imagine making anything that small. :)

It is sooo hot here I can barely make myself do much of anything. We having much needed rain today, though, so fingers crossed, I'll finally get to doing something.
