Recent Winnings

I have been pretty lucky recently. On Knitter in the Kitchen, I guessed the closest number of balls of yarn in Caitlyn's stash. She had 90 balls of yarn and I guessed 89! The prize was a brand new copy of Hat, Mittens, and Scarves Deck. To my delight and surprise, she also enclosed extra goodies into the package. Cute notecards and a tissue holder that she made. Thank you, Caitlyn!
And I won a doll on Blue Bobbin's 100th Post Giveaway. Marcia made this Wee Wonderfuls Doll, Olive. It is beautifully made with little wonderful details, like the little crochet flower on her collar.
Sorry for the less than spectacular photos. The doll arrived this morning and we are having a heat wave in NYC. Miss M was not really in the mood to take photos. She was grumpy and wanted my full attention so I had to snap these quickly. The doll is almost as big as her. I have always wanted to make Olive and Archie, but I never knew that the dolls were that big.As much as I wanted to keep this for myself, it will go to Miss M. I will put it on her shelf until she is old enough to play with it. Thank you, Marcia!
Caesar is just as good as a pony! (This was for our own amusement and no pups were hurt during this photo shoot.)
He is a super good natured dog. He didn't even mind that Melody was on top of him while he ate. You couldn't do this with Napoleon because he is afraid of everything and most likely would run off.
And she drooled on him! I think she and the boys will be best friends when she gets older.
A friend came to visit last weekend so I made these Creamy Lemon Squares for her. This recipe was in the recent issue of the Food Everday magazine. It is delicious! It was just the right amount of fresh squeezed lemon juice to make your mouth pucker, but sweet enough to counter the tartness.

Speaking of yummy food, our 6th year Wedding Anniversary is tomorrow and DH is taking me to Mesa Grill for dinner. I am so excited (it's so rare that we go out to eat these days). I am already looking at the menu online and trying to decide on what to order.

Your were lucky! Everything is so cute, but still not as cute as your little lady.

Please tell us all about Mesa Grill, especially how the food tastes. The menu looks just look what he prepares on his show, I'm curious whether the stuff tastes as good as it looks.

Happy Anniversary! When we finally decided to eat at Mesa Grill, the line was too long (impromptu decisions for such things are always a bad idea). But I do know that you can never go wrong at Mesa. Some of the best food.

Congratulations on all the goodies...

Happy Anniversary. I'm so glad the doll arrived okay. Melody is so cute. The wee wonderful doll patterns can be resized when printing them. I have a friend who was going to make them smaller. I made the original doll size. When you try it, you'll be hooked, they are fun and easy. Would make great B-Day gifts for you to make for her friends in a few years.

Aren't you the luck one! Really! The baby is so cute. The dog is so sweet to her. If a little kid goes near my dog I get nervous, he can be touchy and sometimes snap. Have fun when you go out to dinner. Savor it. When our kids were little we hardly went out at all. It didn't matter who had them, we were always the parents and felt it was our job to be with them all the time. Crazy huh, but I wouldn't do it differently.

Aw - I love it when dogs are good natured around little kids. It is so sweet. My mom always tells me when I was learning to crawl our cocker spaniel mut that would let me grab onto her hair. She would try to walk away, but I would hold on and get dragged around the wood floor.
Hope you enjoy all the loot! That doll is really cute - I like the bow and the crochet flower is a nice touch.
