Baby Bunny Pink

After getting reacquainted with my Hello Kitty Janome sewing machine last week making the soft fabric book, I decided to tackle another sewing project. I know a few babies that are arriving this Summer, so I need to start making the gifts now. Jo-Ann Fabrics sells these quilt kits called Cuddly Quilt Kit. I bought 2 kits in January. This one is called Baby Bunny Pink. It comes with all the fabric for the front and back and includes easy directions. This quilt doesn't require batting. The rights sides are sewn together leaving a small opening and then you turn the quilt right side out.The directions are very clear in how to cut out all the pieces and how to assemble. My biggest and only complaint is the choice of fabrics they give you. Most of the fabric is cotton and flannel, but there is also satin and a eyelet cloth that has embroidery all over it. Those two were very hard to sew with. I ripped out the sewing many times, but decided to just go with it at the end because I was beyond frustrated. Surprisingly, the pink heart plush for the borders didn't give me any problems. It's not perfect, but it's still cute. It's a light blanket, perfect for a Summer baby girl. The back is a flannel print, called Bunny Words. The size of the blanket is 30.5" by 36".

Cute and pretty, looks soft, cuddly and sweet, practically perfect in every way, and the quilt is very nice too!
I just love Melody's grin... she looks delighted to see you, like she is confident and content.

You should really open an Etsy store. I think you could sell just about anything with Melody as your model. She is the picture of sweetness!

this turned out so great! I'm always afraid of sewing with Satin.

Those project kits are so handy. I have a quilt kit that I bought that I need to get going on soon.

Love the bunny fabric. I'm going to have to look for this next time I head to JoAnn's. I need quick things to sew for babies. Lots coming around here!

Lovely baby pink! I will restart on my Colourwheel quilt after the carpet cleaning people come! LOL! Don't want to put the white fabrics on the carpet when I'm not sure it's really clean!

So very beautiful! I wonder if you are ever tempted to keep the cute things to make for others for Melody.

I also love Melody's pajamas a lot! I am a grown girl, but I want her blanket and pajamas...Maybe I need to grow up a little??? LOL

How sweet! This reminds me of a homemade quilt that I received when I was a baby- However, mine was covered with ducks instead of bunnies. It's all cute though. :)

That's neat how the quilt has different textures. Perfect for a little baby. I would have thought the border fabric would be hard to deal with. Good to know!

Great little blanket! Looks like Melody is enjoying it. Will she be able to give it up? She is the cutest thing!

Nifty blanket! It looks so soft and snuggly. Have you tried using a walking foot with your Janome? I find that that's sometimes helpful with slippery fabrics. You may have to fiddle around with the tension first but I think it helps!

That blanket is super sweet (Melody too of course :)! I love the plush heart fabric on the border. I can truly imagine just how hard the satin fabric was to work with. I hate working with that type of fabric!! What a great gift it will definitely make for a summer baby girl! I would've loved it for my baby girl (she was born in Aug.)

The blankie is much prettier than anything you can buy in the shops! And, nothing better than a cute baby with a sweet smile to show it off :)

I've seen that fleasy fabric before and it's to die for soft. Your baby looks so cute there all happy and sweet. What a great creation, and what a little doll you have there.

I think it's very cute! Melody seems to like it as well.

I like that plush embossed heart fabric. I've been using it for my Touchy-Feely Taggie Blankets. It's so soft and sweet.
