Finally, a FO to show.

I have been distracting all of you with pictures of the baby because I haven't been getting much done. Now that she is awake more often, my time is consumed with entertaining her or watching her play. She got sick last week and had a little fever. For 2 nights she was impossible to deal with. She was cranky and crying inconsolably and refused to drink her formula. I felt so bad for her. I knew she was tired, but she couldn't fall asleep for more than 45 minutes at a time before she would start crying again. She seems to be doing much better today (knock on wood). The sweater has been done for a while, but it needed the ends woven in and to be blocked. I soaked and blocked the sweater last week. And while she played this afternoon, I sat next to her and sewed on the 3 buttons. When she willingly took a nap after playing, I took the pictures. It's a dreary day today and the sky threatens to rain, but if I don't take the pictures today, I don't know when my next chance may be.I love how the sweater turned out. But I would knit it in a worsted weight yarn if I had to do it again. The stitch pattern became tedious with the thin dk weight yarn that I used. My only complaint is that the sleeves are not knitted in the round. I had to carefully mattress stitch the sleeves together and it was a bit difficult because of the pattern on the sleeves. I think I did a good job because the seams turned out to be invisible.I made the 12 month size so it's way too big for Melody right now. I still haven't decided whether I should keep it or give it away to the many babies being born around me. Everyone I know is having girls, except for one friend who recently had a boy. I haven't had a chance to make anything for that friend yet. Does anyone know of any good boy sweater patterns? I know this pattern is unisex, but I want to knit something new.

Pattern: Baby Brights (CH-33) by Bev Galeskas from Fiber Trends
Yarn: 2.75 skeins of Plymouth Encore Colorspun DK in color: 7990 (Pink, Gray, White)
Needles: US 5 / 3.75 mm
Size: 12 months

Great little sweater! Sorry to hear that Melody was not feeling well last week. Hope all is better now. Have you ever looked at the free knitting patterns site?
It's at www.knittingpatterncentral.com
There is also a crochet site.
www.crochetpatterncentral.com
Hope you will be able to find some baby patterns there. I am so glad that I was able to access your blog today. When I tried to do so the last couple of days, it told me that I was not allowed. OMG I almost cried! I love your blog!

Sending get well wishes to Melody. Poor babies are so helpless when they are sick and they cant tell you what is wrong with them. I think we mums feel just as bad as they do. I love the little cardigan, it is adorable. I like Sirdar patterns for boys and they have some great ones.

What a pretty sweater! Sorry to hear Melody was sick - that is never any fun, but the littler they are they worse it is, I think. They are miserable and they will make sure you know it, the poor little things!

I'm sorry to hear that Melody has been sick. It's so miserable (for everyone involved) when they're sick. I hope she feels better soon! Great sweater. I think I might need to get that pattern.

I like how the colors in the yarn turned out with that pattern. You can still see the stitch through the variegation. Very cute!

Hope your little one is feeling better. It's tough when the little ones get sick.

What a wonderful sweater...I'm always amazed at people who can knit things that can be worn...I just do blankets, scarfs...all simple and again...simple, simple hats. My dream is to one day knit a wearable sweater! Gorgeous work!

p.s. you can post pics of Melody in every post...no complaints here. =) [my youngest is almost 3...so I love seeing the wee little ones!]

You must keep the sweater for Melody! It is gorgeous!

As for good boy patterns... hmmm... BSJ, Wonderful Wallaby, Tomten, Child's Placket-Neck Pullover from LMKG? I've never actually knit anything for a little boy so I might not be the best help :)

I'm so sorry to hear that the baby has been sick too :( I've been dealing with a sick little girl a lot myself. As for a baby boy sweater, I really do like the free one I'm making right now by f.pea called super-natural stripes. Look it up on ravelry. It's really fast. I love Melody's sweater BTW!
