Another post about Miss Waaahhhh.

It was a rough day in the sand box. You should see the other baby.Melody is a very smiley baby and she has now begun to "talk" to people. It's hilarious listening to her babble. For some reason, she likes to talk to strangers or people she doesn't see very often. Since she sees me all the time, she doesn't talk as much, but she turns on the baby talk as soon as DH gets home. My sister came to visit over the weekend and Melody kept smiling and "talking" to her. The same thing happened when some friends came over on Sunday to meet her for the first time. I guess she likes to charm people. Now, if we can only translate what she is saying. This is how DH babysits on the weekends while playing on his XBox 360. I think he is hunting for terrorists. The boys are passed out, but Melody seems fascinated.
Karen asked me what brand of crochet hooks I was using on my last post. These are the Hamanaka Raku Raku Double-Ended Crochet Hooks. The soft rubber grip is ergonomic and the hook part is made out of aluminum. They are available from Japan and a lot of Etsy sellers sell them, but the price is kinda hefty. I was able to get a set from a Ravelry member based in Japan. On the Ravelry forums, she offered to help people buy the crochet hooks sets and ship them to us. She did not make any money from it and charged us the exact price of what it costs, so it was a lot cheaper than buying it from Etsy. Ravelers rule!

I got them in January, but never had a chance to try them until now. My normal hooks are the Susan Bates Aluminums which work well for me. I have tried a Clover Soft Grip Crochet Hook, but never liked it. I think it's the way I grip my crochet hook (like a knife). I really like the feel of these Hamanaka Hooks and it works well with how I hold a hook. They are very comfortable. I am still working on the bunny's arms, so progress is being made slowly.

What happened to her left eye? Is it because of babies playing? You definitely got a charmer here ... talking to strangers! She has more guts than I do! LOL!

She scratched herself badly when I gave her a bath. I have to keep her hands covered because she rubs her face. I trim her nails, but she still manages to scratch herself.

What a cutie pie you have there (the baby)! LOL! She is just adorable! Your crochet hooks look awesome. I don't crochet much, mostly knit, but I do like doing crochet lace trim. Thank you for sharing all the wonderful pictures you post of your projects!

Love the babysitting picture! so hilarious! I have a feeling Jon would be doing that if we had a baby too.

Those crochet hooks look really cute! I really like the clover soft grip hooks, so I guess I don't have an excuse to buy cute hooks too.

Was that eye bandaid a sandbox accident? That baby of yours is the cutest thing! I wish I could come over so she could babble to me! I love babbling babies! The babysitting photo is hilarious! She will soon be a video game expert!

The photo of Melody with her hand on her eye is the best photo I have ever seen of a baby. I know that sounds dramatic, but I really love it!
Seriously.... her photos are darling and I don't even know her. Even my husband has asked me if there are "any new melody photos lately?"

I don't know how to crochet much more than chains, but those Japanese hooks look pretty cool. Japan always has the cool stuff.

That's so exciting that your daughter is starting to 'talk'! I love it when they get older and start singing.
Your post reminds me of a three-year-old I used to babysit. Her parents were very reserved, but she would walk up to any stranger, say hi and start rattling off any little fact she knew about herself. It was really cute, but here parents were horrified and constantly trying to teach her not to talk to strangers. Luckily she lived in a really small town where everybody recognized each other.
The x-box photo is so cute!

Melody sounds like quite the charmer! Love how your hubby does the babysitting, he makes it look effortless :)

Ravellers are great aren't they, how nice of her to help you get those amazing crochet hooks.

No matter how often i trimmed DD's fingernails when she was a baby, somehow or rather she had the fine cut line on her face. I used to put on Pigeon brand cloth mittens for her.

I love those colourful crochet needles, and it is the soft part that makes me want to have !!!!Gosh

Cute pics, tks for sharing.

Those hooks make you look like a true professional! A professional hooker! (ha ha... i crack myself up). Melody seems like a happy baby... I can't believe she sits still long enough to let your husband play XBox when it's his turn to take care of her.

My daughter use to scratch herself a lot. I kept her in her onesie night gown that had the hand cover for a really long time cause of that.

Melody is too precious!

I love that first picture of Melody! I can almost hear the theme music from "Rocky". She is just getting prettier all the time.

I'm surprised you haven't knit her some hand covers, or have you?

Melody is cute, cute, CUTE. I would like to pick her up and rock her...and I don't necessarily feel that way about all babies.

ps. Thanks for the crochet hook review :o)

Love the cute baby pictures!! Will you please tell me how to contact someone (through Ravelry, from what I understand) in order to obtain 3 sets of the Hamanaka Rakuraku Double-ended Crochet Hook Sets??? These are for the ladies at church - the Clover soft touch is not very comfortable for them. I would appreciate ANY help you can give, and thank you! Maria Hawl (smidget@erols.com)
