A Small Update

Sorry to keep everyone on pins and needles, but there is no sign of the baby yet. Today was my last doctor's appointment and the baby seems to be very happy to stay inside (her heart rate is very good). I didn't think that I would have to go to my last appointment, but hey, I also never had a baby before, so what do I know? She still has 5 days to get here on her own and if she doesn't, I am going into the hospital at 9pm on Tuesday for the inducement.

I will try to post before I head to the hospital, if possible. So, check back for the good news.

If I don't go into labor tonight or tomorrow morning, DH is taking me shopping tomorrow. I am feeling a bit of cabin fever waiting for this little girl to come out, so a little bit of yarn and fabric browsing might cheer me up. Plus, we are planning to have Mexican food after the shopping which I am excited about. For some reason, I have been wanting to eat spicy food during the 3rd trimester, the hotter the better!

In the mean time, I have been knitting like crazy. Each day I wake up and realize that the baby is still inside, it fuels me to knit even faster. It's like I am racing against her!

Here are my current "Work in Progress":
Baby Brights (CH-33), top down raglan sweater from Fiber Trends. I call it the P1, K1 Hell sweater. I am knitting the largest size in DK weight yarn, but the yarn, Plymouth Encore Colorspun DK, feels like fingering weight at times. I finally got both sleeves done, but I still have miles of P1, K1 for the body of the sweater (151 sts). I find that P1, K1 really slows down my knitting. I rather knit stockinette or garter. Of course, knitting this in worsted weight would have made this whole thing a lot easier. Note to self for next time!

Bubby Bear from Knitty. This is part of a baby set that I am making for a friend who is due in March. Her baby shower is in February, so I figured that I need a head start.
Simple Shoes (PDF link) from Uniform Studio. I love this pattern, totally seamless and quick. I had made a pair in Manos Del Uruguay for my own baby. This is also part of the baby set for my friend. I have one shoe almost done.

I also hope to have one more Finished Object (FO) to show before the baby comes. It's a crochet project that just needs to be sewn up.

Thanks for the update. I'd check in a few times already wondering if you'd already gone to the hospital.

I know the waiting can't be fun but hang in there.

The raglan sweater looks interesting , and thanks for the link to the baby shoes - no seaming is always good in my books :)
Best wishes on baby's arrival - it's going to be exciting! I wonder when baby will decide to make her entrance - my daughter's birthday is on Sunday :)

Thanks for the post, and don't be sorry by any means :)!! I hope the baby will decide to come before you are scheduled to be induced. I've had both types of births, and I really had a better experience when I went into labor on my own. But sometimes it's a must to be induced, I'll be thinking good thoughts for you everyday until I hear the good news.

I love the new sweater btw, and k1,p1 does slow down ones knitting doesn't it! Thanks for the sweet comment on my Ice cream hat btw ;)

Thanks for letting us know! I thought that your lack of posts here and activity on ravelry meant that you were busy giving birth, rather than knitting, lol! In case this is the last time you post, as ever, GOOD LUCK! xxx

Oh my goodness you are so close to holding your baby! I'm so excited for you! Good luck in the next few days/weeks. Hey, I hear spicy food can help trigger labor??? But what do I know - I don't have any little ones yet!

Love the knits. Thanks for the links!

I am so excited for you! It's going to be sooo amazing for you to finally hold your little one - what a blessing! I hope your back hasn't been giving you too many problems.. Good luck and know I'm thinking of you!

I love your knitting projects.. and hope I get into my knitting groove again. I'm finally feeling a bit better now that I'm in my second trimester. I do have a baby sweater on the needles among all my other WIPs and UFOs but find myself craving my sewing machine lately.

Be well and can't wait to hear of the birth about baby!
