Thanks to Ravelry, I saw that someone had knit this bear using only one skein of Lamb's Pride Worsted. And lucky for me, I happen to have one skein in my yarn stash. I love one skein projects! DH thought I deliberately chose purple for the bear and actually preferred the browns and natural colored ones on the pattern picture. I was so glad to use something from the stash so I didn't really care. It's still cute!
It's cleverly constructed and the instructions are clear. The arms can be a bit tricky to knit because the bear is stuffed already as you try to pick up the arm stitches and knit them. Other than that, it was fun to knit Baby Bobbi.
This baby bear is big. I can't even imagine knitting the full size version. The full sized Bobbi Bear is 20 inches tall. Seriously, my dogs are not that small and this bear is almost as big they are. This Baby Bobbi Bear turned out to be 14 inches tall.
It will be a while before the baby can play with this bear. I bet that the baby will be smaller than the bear when she is born. She is sure taking her sweet time in making her debut! If the baby does not come on her own this week, I am scheduled for an induction at the hospital next week.
Pattern: Baby Bobbi Bear from Blue Sky Alpacas, bought the pattern from Kpixie
Yarn: 1 skein Lamb's Pride Worsted in color: Supreme Purple M-100
Needles: US 8/5.00mm DPN's and 16" Circular
Size: 14 inches Tall

Wow! I always assumed that those little guys were about 8" tall. He's very cute, and I like the purple. Very cheeky!
Too cute and he is huge! lol....I love how your furry kids are posing with him...
He's huge! But he's adorable, I love his brightness.
Cute bear... I must confess I came here on baby watch! You seem to be a pretty cool customer. I wish you the best.
such a cute bear! I've seen cute baby photos where they pose the baby with the same stuffed animal each month so that you can see how much the baby grows. It looks really cute when they're all lined up...first the baby is smaller than the bear and then the bear starts to "shrink" as the baby gets older.
Your furry babes are going to have to move out of the way and make way for baby before you know it! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and i am looking forward to the big announcement!
What a beautiful little bear, and she really shows up well on your ripple! Wish I knew how to knit.....
How cute the babies new toy is!!! I'm sending you lots of good luck wishes!
That bear is very cute - and I'm totally impressed that you're still going with the making stuff - I can imagine you trying to bring your sewing machine to the hospital with you ;)
Schrodinger- LOL!!! That's so funny. I was planning on bringing a knitting project with me to the hospital. I am casting on projects like crazy. I feel like I have to as much as possible before the baby comes.
That bear is super cute and so are your dogs! It looks great in the purple.
Gosh, I'm just coming around your blog and didn't realize you were due so soon. How exciting!!! Hope you are feeling great and that the baby comes right on time!
what a handsome looking bobby.
Very cute bear!
Wow, I didn't realize the baby bear version was so big...that actually makes me like the pattern more, though. I think your baby girl is staying in there purposely because the longer she stays the more stuff you make to spoil her with! :o)
Cute little bear, I just wish that I knew how to knit!
The bear is really cool - I can't believe that it was made out of one skein only!
I thought you may have already gone to hospital as you hadn't posted for a couple of days - the best of luck with the next few days and I hope that everything goes swimmingly :) xxx
oh the bear is just delightful!!good luck with everything over the next few days,
Melx
Your bear is adorable! I can't believe how much knitting/crocheting you have gotten done since you found out you were pregnant! Best wishes to you and the baby!
The bear is adorable! It certainly doesn't look very big in pictures but 14" is a good sized teddy bear.
Purple is a great color! I think every little girl goes through a purple phase at some point.
Oh, too cute...! Especially when posed next to those adorable little dogs of yours, it's almost like the bear is "life-sized"! I actually bookmarked this pattern ages ago and have yet to get to it... Perhaps seeing yours is just the inspiration I needed!
bobbi bear is adorable in that color! but i think the best part is the fact that you used up a single skein from the stash in such a great way!
best of health to you and the little one!
I love the bear! The bright colors in that afghan will really stimulate your little one as well. So pretty!
Good luck with the waiting. I know the last few days are the hardest part :)
I want a purple bear & he matches your ripple blanket so well.
Adorable bear! I hate to tell you this, but my little guy was a full 7 days late. I was starting to think he was going to college in there. My friend told me to eat a big rich dinner, so we had pasta in a cream tomato sauce. It worked, baby was on the way after that. Best of luck! Enjoy every second of it all.
Bobbi Bear looks very cute, hope he won't have to wait much longer !
Girls really seem to take their time don't they ? I'm sure she's checking if her make-up is fine :-)
wow, you've been busy
you must be able to knit quickly
OKay. Sorry, but now you are obliged to post everyday, if only to say, "Not Yet." I hope all is well.
cute bear! I hope that your sweet babe comes soon!!!
Love, love the bear. Superior work.
What a wonderful knit bear - looking forward to hearing of your new little ones arrival. Take care!

What an adorable bear, she'll love it! It'll be all slobbery before you know it ;)
Bear is adorable and so are the doggies! Many good thoughts for you and your little one. :)
Oh... uh, yeah... it's me again. Don't get up. I'll see myself out. Just, you know, happened to be in the neighborhood. Can I get you anything? Ice chips? A back rub?
