Pear Apple Cozy

I have been doing a lot of seaming and weaving in ends, my least favorite things about knitting. I needed a break and wanted a quick and seamless project. Last week, I saw this cute Pear Cozy on Susan B. Anderson's blog. Susan is the author of Itty-Bitty Hats and Itty-Bitty Nursery. I have the hat book and it's adorable. The next day, she posted a pattern for the cozy which can be used for Pears and Apples.I dug through my stash and found a skein of Sonata by Elann. It's a quick and fun project worked in the round. I had plenty of yarn leftover so I think that one skein of the Sonata should be able to make 2 cozies. Doesn't the Picot Bind Off add a special touch to the finished project?DH saw it in the kitchen and thought it was so cute. I thought he would make fun of me for knitting that. But I guess it's not that weird since a lot of the Asian Pears or exotic fruits that we buy from ChinaTown all have styrofoam cozies to protect them from bruising.

Hi Oiyi!
You have a beautiful blog. Congrats on your pregnancy, lots of fun knitting in store I am sure. I love, love, love your pearapple cozy. It looks way cuter than mine.
Thanks for letting me know that the pattern is okay.

Love that cozy, what a fun idea, and you're right the picot bind off definitely adds a little something, something.

Too cute! I just love this- Such a colorful, charming little sweater for those lucky fruits. Heck, I wouldn't mind life as a pear if I could wear that stylish cozy! ;)

Ack! That really is cute. You could practically give the fruit away as a present when wrapped up like that.

This is so cute! It makes me want to start eating apples and pears :)

so cute - i'd wanna squish the fruit just so i could fondle the yarn forever digging out every bit of fruit to eat.

that's super cute! I'm loving the picot edge.

So cute, just don't forget to eat the apple, so it doesn't ruin the cozy.

I swore off buying fabric, only lasted a month or two.

Cute cozy, and you know what? Maybe this sounds lame to you, but you could always get one of those realistic looking faux apples at Michaels or someplace and put it in their so you could keep it out on display at all times ;)

It's been a bit since I've stopped by your blog. Not long left until your little one comes to say hello!! Yeah, what an exciting time :)

so cute! I'm a big fan of those fruit protectors at the market. I might have to try this out too.

The yarn that you used is so pretty!

I love this concept and think it would make a fun gift for an avid apple-eater!

Could it also be used as a scrotum cozy?
