For my baby, the purple one above is made with Lion Brand Velvet Spun, which is what the pattern called for. I hated knitting with that yarn. There is no stretch to it and made the knitting very difficult. You have to knit the head with smaller needles and I had to wrench the yarn along when I switched needles. Even though the result is a very plush blanket toy, I would have chosen a different yarn if I knew how horrible it was to work with.

Pattern: Bunny Blanket Buddy, free pattern by Lion Brand Yarn
Yarn: 2 skeins of Lion Brand "Velvet Spun" in color Lavender #144 and 1 skein of Adrial Jumping in color Green #08
Needles: US 10.5/6.5mm and US 8/5.0mm (for both bunnies)
Size: Green Bunny is 13" long, Purple Bunny is 18" long, measured from top of the head to the bottom.

Very cute! So how's the new mommy to be holding up???
very sweet! Think the lavender one is nice for the baby but really like the look of the other one. nostaligic of the toys my ouma (grandmother) used to knit.
so adorable! I'm definitely bookmarking this pattern as that would be a great baby gift and no seaming = I'm happy. Thanks for the heads up about the lion brand yarn that you used.
Ohh how adorable!! I think I'll make a few for some small kids.. :)
Thanx for the pattern link!
*squee* I wish I knew more folks who had babies...
Adorable! I agree with Karen. I wish I knew more people with babies on the way!
So cute! I'm going to have to save all these patterns for when people I know start having babies!
Egad, the super cute baby knitting continues full force! Very nice.
They're both very cute - what a neat project!
I also wanted to add that I think Crystal Palace's cotton chenille yarn might be an appropriate substitution.
Oh so cute. I will try knitting with Super 10, and see how.

They both are cute, but I do know what you're saying about bulky yarns like the lion brand. I'm not that crazy about lion brand yarn myself, some of it is okay. It's not always that pleasant to work with. It's lots of fun knitting for babies :)
those are adorable!
it's fun to see your baby knits...you've do a lot!
Aw, so cute and cuddly...!
These are so cute!
Adorable! I'll have to remember this pattern for the next baby shower.
