Yarn Temptations

I am adding another WIP to my to-do list. The Brooks Farm "Solana" yarn has been tempting me ever since I brought it back from Rhinebeck. Even though I have plenty of WIP's and UFO's to finish, I casted on for a Clapotis (scarf size) last week. This yarn is a dream to knit with, not only is it soft, it is also silky feeling. It was a bit slippery to knit it with my Knit Picks Option Needles, but I got use to it. This will be a Christmas Gift, so I hope to be done with it soon.

My glucose test results came back last week and my blood sugar levels are fine, but it turns out that I am slightly anemic. Now, I have to take iron supplements along with my prenatal vitamins. Since sugar is not a problem for me, I baked some Zucchini Bread. I seem to have a lot of zucchini in my fridge so I wanted to use it up. The walnuts in the bread is my favorite part. The soft bread with the crunchy walnuts is a perfect combo. DH loves it for breakfast. I used this Zucchini Bread Recipe, but I only used 2 cups of sugar and it was definitely sweet enough.

I've been wanting to knit a clapotis also. I like the yarn that you're using and it looks like you've got a great start on it!

Have you tried making chocolate zucchini bread? It's so tasty!

I second rebekah's suggestion: Chocolate zucchini bread is "mmmmmm" delicious.

I'm loving the natural colors of the yarn. Clapotis is quickly becoming a classic.

Yes, I love Chocolate Zucchini bread. That is going to be my next batch. DH is not crazy about chocolate things, plus chocolate has caffeine so I am trying to reduce the amount of caffeine intake for the baby.

The colorway of that yarn for the clapotis is so pretty!

And the zucchini bread looks yum!!

Lovely yarn you chose there, the variegated-look works well for clapotis!

I too run on the anemic side of the fence, but my multi and some extra servings of spinach every now and then takes care of that. At least it's not a big deal to fix, and hopefully you and your baby will now be healthier and happier!

Oh the clapotis looks so different in natural colors! I started one a few weeks ago and never got too far on it. My knitting mojo has fallen by the wayside to my sewing mojo. Gotta work on getting that knitting mojo back.

Oooh, so glad you're using that yarn! It's too pretty to be a stash yarn!

Love the yarn! I too was (highly) anemic while pregnant. I think it's very common. Just be good about taking your iron, and you might want to increase your fiber too...if you know what i mean!

Scarf looks lovely. Glad your blood sugars are good!

Its so funny you put zucchini bread up, I grew in Kenya and we always made zucchini bread (and called it zucchini!)and I love it but since living in the UK, I have not got round to it yet. Plus mostly the Brits pull I funny face when I mention it! (and they call them courgettes)

Your scarf and zucchini bread both look yummy...
Thanks for the comment... The day that I decided to sew the binding on I really shouldn't have even been sewing...lol...One of those days where you are tired, but feel like you need to accomplish something...argg... Your binding is so pretty and straight! I still love it but decided not to let myself sew when I'm that tired...lol..
I can't believe that you only have 68 days left! Getting close...

ra-row. Brooks Farm Yarn is an expensive, consuming addiction!! The zucchini bread looks divine, but a few choc chips makes it cake!! (even kids will eat it!)
