A Man's Scarf

The Men's Cashmere Scarf (from Last Minute Knitted Gifts) was a UFO until now. I started this scarf in December 2006 for DH. I knitted half of it and then I forgot about it. Since, the weather started to finally cool down, I thought DH could use a new scarf. (He still wears the one I made him 6 years ago before we were married.) I quickly knit up the rest of the scarf in a few days and then the weather warmed up again, making the scarf unnecessary for Rhinebeck. But this weekend was the perfect weather for a test run.The no name cashmere yarn is from School Products. I think I bought it more than 4 years ago. I use to work near School Products and would go there after work to browse. They use to have bins of discounted cashmere yarn all wound up into yarn cakes. This yarn is made up of 3 thinner strands held together. Looking at their website now, I think it may be a Cashmere Boucle.

The pattern is really easy to memorize and it makes a nice textured pattern. It does, however have a right and wrong side. The edges of the scarf tends to curl in, but a good soak remedied that problem. After washing, the yarn really fluffs up nicely.Pattern: The Men's Cashmere Scarf from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Cashmere Yarn from School Products
Needles: US 8/5.00mm
Size:5 1/2 inches wide by 72 inches long

You've been so productively lately I wonder when you sleep. The scarf looks fab, perfect for a guy.

Looks so warm and cozy... I usually am not a huge fan of scarves and such, but I think that I could easily incorporate such a piece into my wardrobe, too. Why should guys have all the fun? ;)

The scarf looks great! I'm glad to see your knitting mojo is spilling over to UFOs!

Julie, I think not sleeping is the key to being productive. It reminds of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer only sleeps a few hours a night. Seriously, I do have insomnia quite a bit.

Hooray for finished objects! The scarf looks great. I'll have to dig around my stash and see if there's a good yarn for that.

Ooooh, I hope it's as soft as I imagine it to be. It looks great, I have to pop to school products again soon...

It's so sweet that your hubby wears the scarf you knit him all these years. Lovely texture on this new scarf. Oh wow, you used to work near School Products - sigh, what a pleasure it must have been.
By the way, I'm so looking forward to the wedding cake. I have mentioned before, you do bake the loveliest cakes!
