I started a Clapotis last year. I don't have a clue when I started it, but I definitely know it was before Caesar came to join our family. So, let's say it was started before April of last year. For the past 2 months, I have been looking for it because I needed the needles to finish another project. I gave up and bought new needles for that other project. The day the new needles arrived in the mail, I found the ziplock bag that contained the half finished clapotis and the needles. Sigh! It fell behind something in the closet and I had looked in the closet a zillion times. I only found it because I was putting away something else and needed to rearrange some things around.
I didn't realize that I had gotten pretty far with knitting the Clapotis before abandoning it. It took me one evening to finish it up, then a soak and some blocking. After blocking, it doesn't poof up anymore and is pretty much flat. I love how it drapes! It feels wonderful around my neck. The Mohair and Wool DK yarn was nice to knit with. It was a little sticky when it came to dropping the stitches, but it wasn't hard at all to nudge them along. The color is a broad range of pinks and some mocha. My favorite is the intense pinks that looks almost like red. I am tempted to keep this for myself, but I am not really a pink girl. Now, I want to knit one for myself after seeing how fabulous this scarf is, but there is still a lot of outstanding UFO's. This will be a gift for someone special whose birthday is coming up.
I made some modifications to the size since I was using smaller gauge yarn. According to my notes, in Section 2(Increase Rows), I repeated Rows 1-12 three times and then Rows 1-6 once more.
Yarn: Fearless Fibers, Mohair and Wool DK Yarn "In the Pink" colorway (1 skein, 490 yds)
Size after blocking: 14" wide and 62" long
Pattern: Clapotis from Knitty
Needles: Denise Interchangeables US 7/4.5mm

That's a beautiful Clappy. I love the yarn you used, but of course, I am a "pink" person! : )
Wow that looks great! I really like the colours. I don't think I've ever misplaced a knitting project (yet). Something to look forward to, especially if it's nearly finished and turns out as well as your clapotis (was tempted to shorten it to clap but the word "clap" is slang for an STI in the UK hehe).
What a great find! A project you can finish up in one evening! Sorry it had to take you ordering new needles to find it :/
Beautiful. And such a bargain knit for one skein!
It is gorgeous! It is amazing you got that out of one skein. Whoever recieves that as a gift is very lucky!
It looks beautiful! I, too, am amazed at how much you got out of that skein, someone's going to LOVE that clap.
Gorgeous! I really love all the pinks. I can't believe that only took one skein!?
very very pretty (and I don't even like pink). congrats on finishing.
What a gorgeous Clapotis this is - fantastic work indeed!
So pretty. Now, is this for someone specific's birthday?? Or were you just generally saying, "I'll give it away to someone someday probably for a birthday present"? I mean, maybe I have a birthday coming up, maybe. Hahaahahahah
Gorgeous.
Your clap is lovely - I'm not normally such a big fan of PINK, either, but I really like the colors of yours. I wouldn't blame you for keeping it!
It's so fun to find something that's almost done, finish it and end up with a pretty scarf.
The colours are really beautiful!
I love the yarn you chose! :) It has a beautiful colorway!
lovely - i've been wanting to knit one of those but i have too many projects to finish on my plate.
ohhhhhhhhhhh gorgeous! love the colours and it looks beautiful! i have so many baby jumpers I put aside and I bet there is only a little bit to finish off!!!!! well done!
I love the Clapotis pattern - it's one of the most fun things I've knit. And your version turned out great, splendid spring colors and no weird pooling like I tend to get!
That looks gorgeous! I want to knit this now too, but like you, I have tons of UFOs. Someone is going to have a very happy birthday!
Very pretty clapotis!!! Yours looks nice blocked! Great colors!
I blocked mine and now I will never wear it!
