Easter Cuteness

I would like to introduce you to Phoebe! She thought that she was going to enjoy the nice Spring weather, but NYC has just been hit with a cold front. So, I quickly whipped her up a scarf. She looks quite chic with her Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Scarf.
I love her little tail.

Pattern: Best Bunny, free pattern from LionBrand.com
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in Soft Pink and Plum Wine
Hook: Size 5mm/H8

Dyed Easter Eggs, but not in the traditional way. These are made with Japanese Egg Molds. You hard boil x-large eggs and peel them while they are hot. Then pop them in the mold and clamp it shut. After it cools, you get these cuties. I used some food coloring to dye them. The little rabbit and baby chick are quail eggs.

Chirp, chirp! This little chick just hatched in my kitchen. Here is the tutorial to make your own egg chick. I used black peppercorns for the eyes and cut out the beak from a baby carrot. This is a tricky one to make. A sharp pairing knife will help make the zig-zag cuts easier to cut. Who knew that you could have so much fun with hard boiled eggs?

A Year of the Rabbit Pendant. This is a crappy photo, but I didn't get a chance to photograph it properly before I gave it to the customer. This was a custom order. She wanted to give her friend a handmade necklace and her friend is born in the year of the rabbit, so I came up with this design. I hope that you can tell it's a silhouette of a rabbit in the center of the square, all hand cut in sterling silver. The customer and the recipient loved it.

Have a great weekend!

I love those eggs - never seen anything like that. And I love the little crocheted bunny - I'd like to learn crochet just to be able to do the little stuffed animals like that.
(so many crafts, so little time!)
Beautiful rabbit pendant!

What great ideas! I made a bunny out of the Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.. you can see it on my FOs page at my blog. I need to put the eyes and nose on it yet. I love the molded eggs! I want to try it! Where do I get the molds?

Phoebe the bunny is too cute for words, I'm going to try that pattern, yet another thing to go on my growing to-do list.
I have to say this again, I love your photos, they look great, really professional & your blog is very inspiring, all I want to do now is bake, crochet, sew & learn to knit.

Those eggs are awesome! I've been going through a bento obsession too. I'm hoping my mom can find me some cheap eggs mold/other bento accessories on their vacation overseas, but I guess I'll find out when they get back. Or else, I will have to buy them on eBay!

oh my...egg molds. I am learning something new everyday! They are too cute.

Thanks for your comment on my bag... I totally reccommend Make workshop, especially the bag class...I think you will enjoy it. If you have Nikki as a teacher, be sure to tell her about your hello kitty machine too!

He he, Phoebe should fear Croque Monsieur - he'd gobble her up in one go! Love your colour choice - much better than the one in the pattern.
