Want one?

Thanks for the compliments on my new stitch marker. I've had that idea in my head for a while and finally sat down to execute it. I do have to say that it turned out much harder to make than I thought it would.

I am in the process of making a few to give away. I will let you know how to win one when I am done, so stayed tuned. I want to thank you all for reading my little blog and taking the time to comment on my crafty endeavors.

I found this old FO recently and realized that I never took a picture of it or even talked about it after it was finished. This is the Anthropologie-inspired capelet that I started in November 2005 and picked it up again in February 2006 and got 80% done. After that I have no more records of it though I know it was finished sometime in 2006. I am going to file this under the 2006 Finished archives.

I am going to try to block it because the edges on the left and right front sides keeps curling under. I am hoping the blocking will fix it. I also need a pin/broach for it. I used a piece of yarn to tie it together for the picture. This is the first adult sized knitted garment I have made. The pattern is easy to follow and adjust. I made the length a little longer. This is definitely a good beginner's project.

Pattern: Anthropologie-inspired capelet
Yarn: Berella Whistler 3-4 balls (Since this yarn is not the same gauge, a little math had to be done. This yarn turned out to be 3.75 stitches per inch, so I cast on 60 stitches and added 1 to make it 61.)
Color: SnowDrop
Needles: US10.5/6.5mm Addi Turbos 32 inch Circs

If you like green tea flavored baked goods, you need to try this Marbled Green Tea Cake. It's made with yogurt and it tastes fantastic. I am a huge fan of green tea/matcha flavored anything and I am always looking for new recipes to try. This one is a winner. I added extra green tea powder because I like the bitter undertone.

I think it was around the time of my knitting & blogging rut. I finished it and tossed it aside.

Hi there! I just wanted to make sure you're aware that your blog is in the queue for the Fiber Arts Bloggers ring, because you don't have any code up. I just sent you the code again--please let me know if you don't get it? I'd love to get you back in the ring. :)

When I saw that cake I wanted to gag, then I read that it was green tea and I was all 'ohhh.' I'm such a hypocrite.

Wow, that capelet is sooo cute. I'm also sorry to hear that you get migraines too. Alot of people do. Don't you wish there was a more effective treatment out there for them? I think you make such nice stitch markers and jewelry too, btw.

The capelet looks great! I'm always a bit awe-struck by anyone that can knit an actual garment.

Mmm - the green tea bread sounds interesting. I may have to try that out; thanks for the tip.
