Cable & Seed Stitch Baby Hat

This baby hat pattern has been on my to-do-list for a while now. I love patterns that need only one ball of nice yarn. I like to use Debbie Bliss yarns for baby hats and small projects. The knitted product is so soft and luxurious feeling. I can't afford to make big projects with her yarn, but one or two balls here and there is manageable.

This hat took more concentration than the other previous baby hats I have knit before, but it was a welcomed challenge. It's suppose to fit a 3-9 month old baby, but I think that it can fit a 1 year old. I had knit the toddler size for the Children's Cotton Hat and it fit a 1 year old snuggly. This hat is much bigger than that one. I will have to try this hat on my friend's 4 month old for a test. I could have covered Caesar's whole head with the hat and had room to spare, but Caesar does have a small head and a large body.
I did deviate slightly from the pattern by making a pom pom for the top instead of the I-cord ending.

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino (1 ball), Color: Periwinkle
Pattern: Baby Hat Pattern (PDF File) by Purly Whites
Needles: US 3/ 3.25mm Crystal Palace Bamboo DPN's

Oh, how totally sweet this is - and little Caesar is such a cutie - and a natural model, I might add! I really love the pattern of the hat, and the yarn looks so amazingly soft and cozy!

Very cute hat, thanks for stopping by my blog today! I love your's, I'm adding you to my reading list. Your knitting is wonderful, plus you're around my age (I turned 32 in december). It's always fun to see what other people around the same age are knitting up.
