All Hail Caesar!

I present to you, little Caesar! This little furball is a feisty one. He is nothing like Napoleon. Napoleon is a fraidy cat and scares easily. Caesar is fearless. He is going to be a handful. He nearly killed himself (or could have broken something) when he tried leaping off our laps and arms. He is very squirmy and quite vocal, too! I don't know if I ever mentioned that Napoleon is very quiet and almost never barks. Caesar growls and barks even when he is playing by himself. It's hilarious. Angela had suggested we call him Chewy or Wooky after the Star War's character, Chewbacca the Wookiee. Well, Caesar makes Wookiee noises! He sounds like a mini Wookiee. But DH had his heart set on a more kingly name for him. You know, just to keep things fair between Napoleon and Caesar. My family calls him "Little Bear" in Chinese because he looks like a small bear with all his fur and roly-poly body. He even has a little pot belly. So cute!

Okay, so Napoleon is jealous and doesn't like Caesar very much. Sigh....and I had hoped that they would be BFF (best friends forever). For the first 2 days, Napoleon was indifferent and didn't want anything to do with Caesar. We were at my dad's house and there were plenty of people for him to play with and lots of space to run around. Caesar would try to nip at him or chase him and Napoleon would just run away. After we got back to New York, Napoleon started the fighting/playing. We were scared at first because it looked like he was trying to kill him, but Caesar fought right back and seemed to enjoy it. I know that Napoleon is trying to establish his dominance, but Napoleon will never be the dominant one. It's just not in his nature. Half the time, Caesar is chasing him around. :-) I am really hoping that they will tire of this soon and Napoleon will just accept Caesar with time. The fighting noise is driving me crazy.

I am feeling a lot better. Thank you for everyone's well wishes and concern. With this injury it was difficult to keep an eye out on those two. They run around so fast and I couldn't turn my head to keep track of them to make sure Napoleon is not hurting Caesar. I have to move my entire body just to see them. The same thing happened to me 3 years ago and it was much worse. I was in the car (passenger side) and had reached over to get the seat belt and felt and heard something pop in my shoulder/neck area. Then later on that night before bedtime, it started to hurt and when I woke up I was in so much pain. This time, I have no clue what I did to do that again. I know that my shoulders and neck is stressed all the time and it's extremely tight. It comes with the territory of being a jeweler. Plus, knitting puts a lot of stress on my shoulders, too. I tend to hunch up my shoulder when working. I have been trying to remember to take stretching breaks.

Sorry you are still in pain. You must remember to stretch!

I can't believe the cuteness that is Caesar. He is adorable! I'm sure that he and Napoleon will soon become friends.

Oh my gosh, he's just about the cutest pup ever!

re the neck- ack, I totally missed your last post, it was during my crunch time for the shower and I was busy seaming and wrapping and baking. I tend to carry all my tension in my neck as well- had physical therapy for 6 months some years ago when it got into a permanent spasm. That was extremely helpful- the doc suggested visiting a massage therapist a few times a year to prevent getting back in that situation. If it's an option for you I highly recommend it. I also began doing some relaxation exercises in addition to the stretching and over the years I've gradually conquered the spasm issue. I hope you feel better soon!

Oh, isn't he adorable...

I enthusiastically second the massage recommendation. I have had similar pops and pulls over the years -- sometimes upper back, sometimes lower, sometimes traveling betwixt the two -- and used to see a chiropractor (good for instant, though often temporary relief). Now when I get in bad shape, I see a massage therapist and, while I'm often still suffering a little when I walk out the door, the benefits seem to come slowly (and last longer). I'm a terrible huncher, too.

Omigod, I think I just plotzed. That little booger is far too cute for words. You're going to have your hands full, aren't you? :)

I'm sorry to hear bout your shoulders - I find that Tiger Balm in my wrists and forearms seems to do the trick. I also have to take a break every once in a while, but that's optional :)
